$350

Price includes all parts, labor and shipping chassis back to you. Price may vary depending if client ships entire amp with cabinet.

Price may also change depending on any other specific requests or needs from customer. Some amp maintenance is required on these old amps (i.e. Power Capacitors) and must be replaced for safety reasons. This can add a bit to the price and is specific to each amp in question. Email me for more details. This is usually not too much added cost.

EVM-10m Speaker

Philips NOS 7581a Power Tubes (6l6 varient)

NOTES:

TUBES & SPEAKERS:
I do not sell either tubes or speakers and start of my mod service explanation by letting folks know what I recommend, but can not source for them.
• NOS GE 12ax7 Preamp tubes
• NOS Mullard 12at7 Phase Inverter Tube
• NOS 7581a Power Tubes
• EV Speakers

DISCONNECTIONS:
I have an option to turn the bright switch on the normal channel to a toggle taking the normal channel in and out of the circuit if requested. Its a good way to hear what this effect has on the amp. The bright switch will no longer act as a bright switch when the normal channel is in the circuit.

The trem will have a toggle in the intensity control. Below "1" the pot will "click" and the trem will be removed from the circuit. Above "1" and the trem is back in the circuit so you can hear the change. If a PPIV is installed, you will not be able to use the trem, even if its switched into the circuit, but you can still hear the difference. These two toggle switches allow you to bring the amp back to the stock configuration.

SS RECTIFIER:
I build a plug-in SS rectifier that simply slots right into where the original tube rectifier sits. This means it is easily swapped out for a tube if one so desires. NOTE: Tubes must be re-biased each time this is switched.

POST PHASE INVERTER MASTER VOLUME (PPIV):
This is a specially designed master volume that really works. I am usually not a fan of master volumes, but this version is special. It bleeds the signal to the negative bias feed at the power tubes. This means, when the master is on 10, its completely out of the circuit. And because its a post-phase inverter design, you get all the compression, drive, and feel that the overdriven phase inverter tube gives you. Most think a cranked amp is distorting power tubes, when in reality, most of the overdrive characteristics you associate with power tube distortion, is really coming from the Phase inverter.

Because of the limited space in these vintage Fenders, I place the PPIV in the "Speed" control location for the trem. This, of course, means that the trem, even when put back into the circuit, will not function properly because of the lack of a speed control. Fenders that already HAVE a master volume will not be a problem since I will be replacing that master with the PPIV and leaving the "speed" control as-is.

NOTE:
7581a Power tubes, NOS Preamp tubes, and EVM 10m speakers are not included in the modification service.
